World War II Museum

Before we left New Orleans everybody went to the World War II Museum, which Spencer had been wanting to go to for a long while.

I caught this picture at the perfect time. They didn't even know I was taking it! :)

The trip to the Museum ended our New Orleans adventure, all except the ride home. I hope you've enjoyed looking at all the pictures!

New Orleans: Part 3

Tour of New Orleans At Night

On the last night we were in New Orleans we walked down to the
French Quarter and walked around. The City was as active during
the night as it is during the day.

Every sign for a restaurant seemed to have an alligator on it. :)

Every time we walked down the street or drove around it seemed we passed this store. Every time it caught my eye and I would remark, "There's the denim den." It served as a landmark and I couldn't help but get my picture in front of it. :)

Eating In New Orleans

Mommy and Daddy packed food for us to take with us.
We cooked and ate in the hotel room...which took quite
a lot of inventiveness, especially since there wasn't a
microwave or fridge.
Spencer still enjoyed his meal! :)
A lack of counter space in the small room caused
the mac and cheese to find a home in the sink.

We did go out to eat one night at Cafe Du Monde,
which was very yummy.

New Orleans: Part 1

Pictures From Around New Orleans

Last November we went to New Orleans for several days. Daddy was attending a conference and everyone went a long to see the city.This was the hotel we stayed at while in New Orleans.

Heading to the Rebelution Conference!

My family is really excited about this conference coming to Birmingham. The Rebelution (a combination of the words Rebelling and Revolution) is a website that "encourages teenagers to rebel against the low expectations of our culture" or as the speakers at this conference often say, "to rebel against rebellion." People are also encouraged to "Do Hard Things."
But this isn't just a conference to go to and proclaim to the world, "We are rebels see us rebelling!" At the core and the center of the Rebelution is a desire to glorify God in our rebelling and "Doing Hard Things". Why would anyone want to do hard things? Because "Christ did the hardest thing by dying a death on the cross and we as Christians are called to follow Him." The key verse for the Rebelution is 1 Timothy 4: 12:

"Let no one despise your youth,
but be an example to the believers in
word, in conduct, in love, in spirit,
in faith, and in purity."

The Rebelution Conference is a place to meet like minded teenagers and their parents and to hear the speakers Alex, Brett (and their Dad) Gregg Harris speak encouraging and motivating sessions.

We're back...

Yes, we where gone on a trip down to Florida for a week, so that is my excuse for the absence of posting. Hopefully now I'll be able to write more. :D

Trip to the Creation Museum!

Not last Saturday but the Saturday before my family went to the creation museum for the day. Since my Dad's a pastor he and Mommy got in for free and Spencer, Andrew and I got in half price. Since Cincinnati is only a few hours away from Louisville this made a really fun day!
It was a really fun day. We got there at opening time and stood in line...even that early it was really crowded and the cars where pouring in but other than the slight inconvenience that many people caused we thought it was great since it showed that people were learning about creation and God's word.
The museum combated the ideas of Evolution by walking us through the different views between Evolution and Creation. It also took us through the first few scenes on the Bible, including the creation through the flood. There was so much I learned, including how the world existed before the fall and what they thought the ark and the flood might have been like.
There were a lot of outdoor tables where we could eat the lunch Mommy packed for us. Outside the scenery was beautiful, including swinging and suspended bridges over the water.
A room inside the museum was dedicated entirely to dinosaurs. It was wonderful to hear the view on these creatures from a Christian view. Someone had asked me before if I believed that dinosaurs really existed. I had told her that I did but I wasn't sure how to defend it other then that there has been a lot of evidence found. Some scholars on a short video we watched defended the argument biblically by pointing out Job 40:15-18 and chapter 41 when it mentions the Behemoth and the Leviathan. (It is not certain that these are dinosaurs but the Behemoth especially seems like one.)

Beautiful Sunset!

On our trip home from Florida we where blessed with a beautiful sunset as we drove through Alabama! I captured a few pictures of it on the camera as we drove along. Hope you enjoy!

Seeing Family Again!

After leaving Pensacola we travelled on down to Santa Rosa Beach Florida. My Aunt April and Uncle Danny lives right off a private beach and so we spent most of the time on the beach. We got to stay there for a week and a half and Daddy got to stay a few days at the beach before having to head back home. Also my Grandparents came up for a few days and spent some time with us too!Bottom Row: Spencer, Andrew, Aunt April and Ethan. The Top Row: me, MeeMaw and Grandpa.
The only family members that we didn't get to see on my Mom's side was my Aunt Star, Uncle Armando and my cousins Armani and Olivia.
Here's some pictures I have of them from the last time we saw them which was back in two and a half years ago.













I know from pictures that I've seen that Armani and Olivia have gotten a lot bigger. We miss you guys so much!
It was so great to be able to see almost everyone again! We had lots of fun.
